The core is an important part of the motor, and the manufacturing process of the core has a great influence on the performance of the motor.
The core manufacturing process includes two parts: stamping and core pressing.
The stamping process belongs to the scope of stamping process.
Silicon steel sheet is the main raw material for the manufacture of iron core, and silicon steel sheet belongs to soft magnetic material.
For a typical soft magnetic material, the maximum magnetization can be achieved with the minimum external magnetic field.
Soft magnetic materials are magnetic materials with low coercivity and high permeability.
Soft magnetic materials are easy to be magnetized and demagnetized, so they are widely used in electrical and electronic equipment.
The most widely used soft magnetic materials are silicon steel sheets and various soft magnetic ferrites.
Because of the high permeability, low hysteresis loss and easy manufacture of soft magnetic materials, the iron core is generally made of soft magnetic materials.
The varieties of soft magnetic materials include ordinary carbon structural steel, silicon steel sheet, electrical pure iron and magnetic conductive alloy and so on.
In addition to the common carbon structural steel plate for the magnetic pole core of DC motor and synchronous motor, the most commonly used material for stamping the core of DC motor and synchronous motor is silicon steel sheet, and some motors also use electrical pure iron or magnetic conductive alloy.
The thinner the silicon steel sheet is, the smaller the core loss is, but the mechanical strength of the stamping sheet is reduced, and it is difficult to manufacture and control the core.
After stacking, due to the increase of the proportion of sheet insulation thickness, the stacking coefficient of the core decreases, resulting in the decrease of the effective length and cross-sectional area of the core.
Therefore, it is not suitable to use too thin electrical steel sheet in motor manufacturing, and the thickness is usually 0.5mm and 0.35mm.
